This
litter was something of a surprise for us. When the mother went into labor, we soon
figured out there was some kind of problem, and so we took her to the vet. When the
vet examined her, she said she needed an immediate C-section, and that probably one or
more of the puppies was dead. We knew to expect three, but now we had no idea how
many of those were still alive. Well, an hour later she called us and told us that
not only were all the puppies alive and healthy, but they were all girls! Aside from
one litter that comprised of a single girl, this is a first for us. I had always
thought that the first litter we did have with all girls would be our "ROSE"
litter, but I was beginning to doubt (after many litters of mostly or all boys) that we
would ever get a litter like that! Well, here they are, and we are very pleased with
them! Below are pictures Kady and Marlene - we took a picture of Cassie, but it
didn't turn out, so stop by later to see her.
Of the three puppies, Kady is staying with us, and will be Kurakuma's
Long Stemmed Rose; Marlene is now Marly, and is living in Indiana, and she will be
Kurakuma's Jade Rose of Jaylin; Cassie is living in Wisconsin, and is now called
Magic,
and she will be K-Lee's Black Majic Rose.
Updates: Kady now has 10 points and a major, and is taking a break to be a
mom (of a litter of all girls!). Magic is not showing much in the
conformation ring, but she is tearing 'round the agility ring, and already
has her NA, and one leg towards her NAJ! |
